Nikkita Parsons is a New York City based performer who is a recent graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University where she received her BFA in Music Theatre.

Before moving to the cornfields of Illinois, I grew up all over the world. Born in Irvine, CA to two Australian born and raised parents, I grew up in L.A, Australia, China and wound up in the dairy farm capital of the U.S. (Wales, Wisconsin to be exact.)

As an expat kid, my only exposure to theatre was the various DVDs my family had acquired over the years. Now that I’m older, I want to try to change that for other kids like me and bring theatre to as many communities as I can. As an artist, I am extremely interested in making art accessible to all audiences. I love telling stories that speak not only to me, but to as many generations, communities that it can. Whether that’s exploring new works, or breathing new life into the classics.

When I’m not performing or in rehearsals you can usually find me on a coffee romp* with her friends, swooning over other people’s dogs, baking three minute brownies, or chasing a good sunset!

*romp = one of the many strange words i’ve worked into my daily vocabulary, in my world, it means to gab, walk around, or sit and enjoy time with friends! (in most cases, with coffee in hand)
